This pic was taken a few nights ago when it was hot and the AC wasn’t doing a damn thing. My strapless bra was cutting off my circulation so I decided to take it off and do something silly with it. Like my new look? LOL… This is the stuff I do in my sister’s room to keep her laughing ’til she can’t breathe anymore. That’s my job Plus my brain was fried that I tend to do stupid things like this. It’s just to show you the kind of humor I have… hehe. I need a new bra, I think I’m a cup bigger now… woohoo!!! That explains the backache I’ve been getting

Anyhow, I got a message from a few fellow MUA’ers wanting to swap with me. I kinda hesitated at first thinking about Christiana’s experience being swaplifted. But then I gave in and got back to them. I have alot of stuff to swap and being that they’re kinda new and in good condition, I hate the thought of throwing it out, so why not swap, ya know? I want to swap a few of my NYX Round l/s, even though they don’t look too nice on me, I don’t want to part with it yet… LOL. I like looking over at my collection, it’s my new love. So anyway, as a noob, I sent out my swap earlier today, so I hope to get theirs in return. I swapped my shadow brush that I rarely use for a Cover Girl eyeshadow, and H&M eyeshadow palette and Milani blush for eyeliner, eyeshadow and foundation. I hope it works out.

This weekend I’ll be visiting Jersey to help out my bf around the house. With the “she-devil” not being around anymore, he needs my help. So it’s gonna be a very productive weekend. I hope everyone’s enjoying their summer so far. It’s been too hot to be playing with makeup so I stay home and shop online… hehe. Today was pretty nice though, especially at home so I had the chance to take some pictures of the NYX Lipsticks I got a few weeks ago, along with NYX Nailpolish in Lingerie and Tulip (I’ll take pix of those the next time I get a mani/pedi). My personal favorite out of the bunch is Heather, Mars, Perfect and Thalia. Circe looked too washed out on me, as if I was wearing a concealer. Sierra and Aphrodite didn’t compliment my skintone at all. I find that Frosted Beige and Darling too frosty for my taste, but I’ll definitely wear it over something that’s matte for added shimmer. I’ll take some pix with these lippies on as soon as my lips are not so chapped. I haven’t been wearing my chapstick lately… so spank me!

Btw, It’s my Mom’s birthday today, so my sis and I will be taking her to CCO out in Long Island tomorrow for some fun time shopping

I know it’s a bit late to announce but I was away and didn’t know about this until today. I go through my blogroll and read about your Cherry Culture hauls and the NYX Round Lippies you bought from them. I thought you might wanna know, I was reading Katrina’s blog and she mentioned that Cherry Culture had raised the prices on their NYX Round Lipstick from $0.99 to $2.00!!! I just got back from my mini vacation with my bf and kiddies a few hours ago. We had a blast and a major tan… LOL. My bf is trying to catch up to me in the tanning department, so he’s got alot of catching up to do :P I LOVE my tan, unfortunately I didn’t spend enough time to do my back so I’ll focus on that the next time I go to the beach. And I made a mistake of wearing my shades while I was oudoors so you’ll see a tanline around my eye area, very minor though, but still looks kinda funny… lol.

We spent our 4th of July week at Seaside Heights, NJ. Did you know that New Jersey-ians call there beach the shore, not the beach? Don’t say you never learned anything from my site :) We spent most of our time around the Casino Piers, where they have lots of vendors, arcades, foods and an amusment park (just like any other beaches, huh? Oh, my bad… the SHORE) We only spent about 2 hours at the beach the whole time we were there. Other times, we played mini golf, go karts, took the kids to the water park while we spent hours in the Lazy River, the bf and I tanned while the kids were in the pool, we rented a bus/bike thingamajig for an hour (a great cardio for me… haha), watched the fireworks at the beach. Thanks to my bf for planning the trip. I had this site bookmarked for a while with the intention of buying the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil for $2.99 as oppose to $4.00 at the actual NYX site and I didn’t know about Cherry Culture at the time. The color I like the most is Pandora, which I think suits me real nice as a red/fuschia lipstick. I’m not too crazy about the other three. Goddess is a coral with shimmer, Indian Pink is pinkish/coral with a hint of gold shimmer, and I wanna like Frappucino but I don’t… lol… I think it’s similar to B52, but Frappucino is more peachy nude and B52 is pinkish nude… whadya think?

I find that the color selections are WAY off on either sites. And don’t get me wrong, these shades are GAWGEOUS, just depends on who’s wearing them. I love, love, LOVE NYX Lipsticks, they’re creamy in texture and goes on very smooth. And they have a big selection in colors too so I will definitely order some more just to play around with. With Thalia being on my wishlist, what colors do you think I should get, especially one that compliments my skintone?

This morning was my son’s graduation ceremony. The last time when I was this excited was when he graduated from Pre-K. Now that he’s becoming a young man, he’s moving on to bigger and more responsible things. It is very rewarding to know the accomplishments that my son has gone through for over the past 6 years. And this morning shows the hard work we all put into it and I’m very thankful for all the people that are involved in our lives. Below are a few snapshots I took. I remember a certain SOMEONE told me and everyone else what a bad mother I was to my kids. Maybe in her eyes, but if I can feed my kids, clothed them, spoil them with expensive games and toys, raise them to be well behaved, take them to school and both my kids are in the Honor Roll, then I know I’m doing something right. Oh, and did I mention that he received a President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence honored in his name? Yeeeah, I’m REEEEAAALLY bad. So this one goes out to her… neener neener NEEEEENER!!! That’s a different story. Thanks for reading.

I didn’t know kids have a prom in elementary school these days. When I was my son’s age, we never had a prom. If they did, I didn’t even know about it. Anyway, the whole thing was sort of bad planning on my part. I had 2 months in advance to have him get fitted for a tux and order a corsage for his date but I did everything at the last minute.

I had placed an order for a corsage the night before the prom, hoping it’ll be available the next day for pickup. I got a call from the florist the following morning telling me that it’s not available *gasp* I swear I thought I was gonna die. My son is gonna hate me for this. Then the florist told me he could make something similar to it, and I told him as long as it looks similar and pink, anything is good, the sooner the better, then he said great, it’ll be ready by 12. What a relief.

This week he got a tux given to him from school. Don’t ask me why or how but I feel lucky that they did. If it wasn’t for them, I’m screwed! I wanted to smack myself in the head for not having him try it on the day he got it, cuz the night of the prom we found out that the tux was big. So he ended up wearing one of his own black pants. I totally forgot to buy him a white shirt so he borrowed my dad’s, luckily it fits. And I couldn’t find my dad’s suit jacket, so he wore the one from school. It’s a tad big but it’s hardly noticable.

It was so rushed that he had to leave to meet up with his date. I didn’t get a chance to meet with them, it would’ve been nice to take a few pictures before they went in. I bet they look so cute together. I did manage to take a couple of shots of him before he left. Isn’t he handsome?

He also received his cap and gown this week. I can’t believe how big he’s gotten. Felt like only yesterday when he was in diapers and learning how to walk with a pacifier in his mouth, running about. And when I give him a hug, it puts a big smile on his face. Nowadays, he gets embarassed and wants to hang with his friends. Oh God, I’m gonna cry

So for anyone who has little ones, enjoy them while you can cuz they’re not gonna be babies for long. Before you know it, their voice is gonna change and start growing hair all over the place and they’re not gonna want to hang with you anymore.

Last night, my sister and I went out for a drive and stopped by at CVS to get some nesessities and the first thing I saw when I walked in was this bright yellow tube of mascara in front of the makeup section. It says 9X the volume in one coat no clumps. Oooh… I like the sound of that, right? I swept it on from root to tip a few times and to my surprise, it did not clump! I’d have to give it 4 stars out of 5 cuz it smelled VERY strong. My sister can smell it when I was trying it on and she was about 2 feet away from me. Overall, this is an OK mascara. Pros: it didn’t clump, attractive packaging. Cons: no length, strong smell, no 9X volume in one coat :( Would I buy this again? Probably not. I like how it looked on my lashes, but I prefer CG Lash Blast instead.

Update: Ok, so I gave it another shot tonight (2008-06-20) and I want to add another comment to my previous review. My sister complimented on my lashes and she said it looked as if I was wearing falsies. That’s cuz I practiced applying 2 coats before it dried completely cuz it started to clump. Extreme volume with 2 coats, that I gotta say. Still 4 stars cuz it smells.

I’ve bought a few things I’d like to share since my dilema with my webhost. Since then my makeup collection grew more and more and I’m thinking when will I ever wear any of these stuff or if I’ll ever where them at all. One thing I’m really bad at is picking out the right colors. The color might look pretty on the package, but not right on me. This goes with anything; blush, gloss, eyeshadows, whatever. That’s why I like to read reviews on a particular product, read beauty blogs especially with pictures of them wearing the product, or watch YouTube videos. I just hate getting lured into buying something and it ends up not working for me. Hey, did you forget I’m a mom? I can’t afford to buy a mistake.. hehe. Here I go, rambling about nothing. L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Mica
Rated the Readers Choice according to Allure Magazine, I wanted to find out what the rave was about and decided to buy it. I want to love the color, and it’s creamy too.

Cover Girl Outlast Double Lipshine in Coral Shimmer
I got this for BOGO 50% at Rite Aid and wanted to give this a try. I’m usually a nude/natural lipstick type of girl and rarely wear anything especially coral, but this color looks GAWGEOUS! I gotta say this, I applied it on my hand one night with all the other lipsticks I bought to swatch and went to bed with it and the only one that lasted throughout the night was this one. So it does what it claims to last for 10 hours. It comes with a clear gloss. I love this alot, it’s not gooey or have a bad taste like some lipgloss I’ve experienced.

NYX Lip Pencils and Lipsticks
Thanks to Christiana and her swatches on her blog, she helped me alot in finding the shades that might look good on me. Somehow the colors on online stores (Cherry Culture and Nonpareil Boutique) don’t match up how it looks in person. I mean, these are very pretty colors that I got; B52, Harmonica, Frosted Flakes. And their lip pencils are good too, not too creamy, not too dry, it’s just right (you can buy them at cherryculture.com BOGO free plus you get a free lipgloss with every purchase!) I got them in Current, Toast, Natural and Mauve. I also got Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Yogurt to go with my L’Oreal Eyeshadow Quad in Enchanted Bouquet (watch fafinettex3 for tutorial). I’ll be purchasing more lipsticks, you can go to my shopping list at Kaboodle to view the colors I’m planning on buying.

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black
The thing I LOVE about L’Oreal is that their Carbon Black is suppose to be more pigmented than their regular black or blackest black. I have their Le Kohl Pencil in Carbon Black and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to any other brands for a black eyeliner. So yeah, I got this mascara for BOGO 50% at CVS. The brush was totally different than my other mascaras, which I’m not too crazy about. It’s more like a comb for your lashes on four sides, like a plus sign. I dunno how to describe it. I love how it extends my lashes though, the color is as black as it can get and with one coat I’m good to go cuz it’s THAT black But I don’t like how the brush sorta makes my lashes stick together, I guess if you like the pixie lash look, this one is for you. I use this with my CG Lash Blast for thickness and this mascara for length.

L’Oreal Eyeshadow Quads in Eva’s Violets
I bought this shade, being that I have brown eyes, it’s suppose to enhance the color of my eyes. It looks sooooo gorgeous on Eva Longoria but not on me Maybe cuz I haven’t perfected the technique in eyeshadow application, but then again the colors were very light. Even the darkest shade doesn’t show much on my lids.

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette by Sephora in Ludwig
OMF’nG!!!! I can’t remember how I found this beauty but when  I saw this for the first time, I was in love! I was sweatin’ Beethoven at first, and I asked my sister if she saw this and she fell in love with it too. So we decided to splurge and headed over to Sephora. I didn’t know they came out with another color (Ludwig) and decided to buy that one instead, my sis got Beethoven and the lipstick in Lolita, VERY pretty color. I’m probably the last person to ever consider buying eyeshadow palette for $35, but looking at the pretty colors, how could I pass it up? And the packaging is simply gorgeous! Oh!!! You have to look for yourselves and tell me what you think, ain’t it pretty?

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
I’ve heard alot of good things about this and it was displayed in the best sellers section at Sephora, so I decided to jump in the bandwagon and gave it a try. I went out to party one night and I had this on under my Kat Von D eyeshadow. Now I sweat like a pig on the dance floor, not only that, I have the greasiest lids on the planet. My eyeshadow lasted the whole entire night, thanks to this baby. It is definitely magic in a bottle. Below is a pic of that night out attempting to do the robot… LOL.

Everyday Minerals
From the samples that I got last month, it is definite that my foundation shades are Olive Medium and Sandy Medium (for when I’m tanned) so I bought the full sizes plus a sample blush in B&B. I also added another free sample kit to my order cuz I wanna try out the different shades of foundation and blush in Apple. I can’t wait to get them in the mail!

I’ve been wanting to go to this store since I was living in South Jersey so I was excited when I had the chance to go shopping in Long Island but I was a bit disappointed at the items they had in the store, for me at least. I’m very difficult when it comes to shopping for clothes, maybe I haven’t given the store a chance. They were having a sale for $8.98 for everything in the store. I took the opportunity to buy clothes for my kids. Boy they grow up fast! And I got myself a zipped hoodie sweater from SJP line. They fit pretty small so I got it one size bigger. CUTE!
