AVON Haul
Posted Under Beauty Stuff

If no one takes away the AVON catalog, then I might as well be broke… LOL… I’ve been ordering stuff from AVON within the month since my first purchase of nail polishes and I think I’m hooked. So far I’m liking their products but I think have enough to keep me pretty for the rest of the year. :D Here are some of the things I got and my thoughts on them.

One of many orders I got from AVON

Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel
I wanted to give myself enough time before writing a review to see if the color would last, and sure enough it did. With 2 coats and no top-coat, it did not chip and I didn’t have to touch-up during the week.  My manicure lasted for more than a week. It goes on so well with no bubbles or streaks, it looks like I had my nails done professionally. It even dries up fairly quick. My personal favorite is Coral Bikini for my toes, it compliments my tanned skintone. I would buy again.

l to r: Nailwear Pro in Coral Bikini, Tangtastic, Fucshia, Viva Pink, Tropical Punch
and Speed Dry in Mambo Melon

Speed Dry Nail Enamel
If you have trouble getting your nails dry fast enough, then this might be for you. On my first try, my nails got a bit messy because it dried too fast as I was stroking the brush over my nails several times. It dries within a minute or two. It’s great for when you’re short on time and don’t want to wait for your nails to dry. I would definitely buy more when they go on sale.

Glazewear Liquid Lip Color
I want to like this gloss, but I don’t. Let me tell you what I like about it: the doe-foot applicator is a plus, it’s moisturizing and non-sticky, the mild smell that’s delish and there’s no taste. The shimmer on the ones I got were not as glittery than I expected, which is a good thing. I give it 3 out of 5 because the gloss doesn’t give enough color. It’s too sheer for my liking. Maybe it was the color I chose, which was Dynamo, Rave and Coral Beat. But their trial sizes seems pigmented, I got them in Darling Pink, Berry Cool, Brown Sugar and Iced Pink. Another thing I don’t like about it is that there’s not enough product on the applicator when I pull it out of the tube, no matter how much I twist and turn to get some product on the applicator, there just wasn’t enough. It’s like the tube just wipes the product off like how a tube of mascara wipes the product off the wand.  I just hate to waste time to glob on some gloss just to show color, I just give up on trying in the end. Even though the minis were nicely pigmented, I wouldn’t buy the full size. My experience with it just turned me off.

See? Not enough product on the applicator

Supershock Mascara
I like how this mascara did not clump and it seperated my lashes and gave volume. It lasted all day, it did not flake, smear or smudge under my eyes. I have nothing bad to say about it except that I felt like the tube was empty and there wasn’t enough product on the brush, which I guess is a good thing, otherwise it’ll get clumpy. I would probably but this again.

Astonishing Lengths Mascara
This mascara is “meh” to me. Not too crazy about it. It didn’t seperate my lashes very well and it did not lengthen. Actually, it made my lashes look like spider legs, not the kind of look I’m going for.

Ultra Luxury Eyeliner
This eyeliner did not tug or pull my eyes, and they go on very smooth and easy. I got these in Black and Charcoal and I’m loving the Black. But they don’t last long if worn alone so I layer it with the Big Color Eye Pencil in Night Glisten and it makes such a big difference. I would definitely buy this again.

Big Color Eye Pencil
This pencil was made as a shadow and liner in one. I only use it as a liner so I can’t comment it as a shadow. The color I got was in Night Glisten and I love it! It’s black with a bit of shimmer and I think it’s great for the outer corner. The color stays true even in sunlight. The only downside of it is that it fades at the end of the day if you don’t touch up and it tends to smear a little, maybe because I have oily skin. But I find that if I layer it with the Ultra Luxury Eyeliner, it last all day. I would buy this again.

Bottom: Bronzer in Beachy

True Color Bronzer
OMG.. what can I say about this product? I just love it! I got this in Beachy and it’s perfect for my skintone. It’s not too dark, it’s not too light, it’s just right. It makes my face look like I was kissed by the sun. It’s great for when you want an added color to your face without looking like a clown.

ANEW Age-Transforming Pressed Powder
I swear carrying this around in my bag makes me feel like a cougar… LMAO! It claims to soften the look of wrinkles and fine lines… which I don’t have, but I do want to minimize the large pores. It doesn’t help with that problem :( But my boyfriend said that my face looks clean :) and he never says anything like that, but I guess he really noticed it that he had to say something. It didn’t help with my oily skin but with a few blots here and there with a tissue, my skin looks fantastic! I didn’t like the sponge applicator it came with so I have to pick up one of those refill applicator for pressed powder thingamajigs.

Now get that AVON catalog away from me before I go broke!!!

NYX Round Lipsticks and Mega Shine Lipgloss
Posted Under Beauty Stuff

I was checking out my stats on my site the other day and noticed that one of the popular keywords that got people to get to my site is NYX. So I better start posting :D I got the following lippies and gloss 2 months ago from NonpareilBoutique.com and I forgot to post swatches. Here ya go:

Top: NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Frosted Beige and Iced Latte
Bottom: NYX Round Lipsticks in Milan, Doll and Saturn

NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Iced Latte
Sorry but I forgot to take pix of Frosted Beige :(

NYX Round Lipstick
L to R: Milan *my fave*, Doll, Saturn

I haven’t been ordering any NYX Lippies since this one. I have WAYYY too many right now and I have just about enough of my favorite shades to keep me happy. Same goes for anything makeup related. I don’t even go to the cosmetic aisle whenever I go to CVS or Rite Aid unless I really need something. Otherwise I have my sister pull me away… lol. It was a nice experiment though. Right now, I’m focusing on my hair, as you can see on my previous posts. I’ll be trying out different methods on how to make my hair naturally curly, frizz free and looking great.

Thanks for reading!

Get Cheeky With Blushes
Posted Under Beauty Stuff

Of course, I had to buy bronzers and blushes to go with my new coastal scents brushes. I recently went to Rite Aid for Jane’s Blushing Cheeks in Blushing Glow and Blushing Baby Doll, and CVS for Milani Powder Mosaics in Honey Kissed. They all gorgeous colors!

More NYX Lippies!!!
Posted Under Beauty Stuff

I hope everyone’s enjoying their summer so far. It’s been too hot to be playing with makeup so I stay home and shop online… hehe. Today was pretty nice though, especially at home so I had the chance to take some pictures of the NYX Lipsticks I got a few weeks ago, along with NYX Nailpolish in Lingerie and Tulip (I’ll take pix of those the next time I get a mani/pedi). I got these from Nonpareil Boutique of course :)

Top: Thalia, Mars, Circe, Frosted Beige
Middle: Perfect, Darling, Heather, Aphrodite
Bottom: Sierra

L to R: Thalia, Mars, Circe, Frosted Beige

L to R: Perfect, Darling, Heather, Aphrodite, Sierra

L to R: Lingerie, Tulip

My personal favorite out of the bunch is Heather, Mars, Perfect and Thalia. Circe looked too washed out on me, as if I was wearing a concealer. Sierra and Aphrodite didn’t compliment my skintone at all. I find that Frosted Beige and Darling too frosty for my taste, but I’ll definitely wear it over something that’s matte for added shimmer. I’ll take some pix with these lippies on as soon as my lips are not so chapped. I haven’t been wearing my chapstick lately… so spank me! ;)

Btw, It’s my Mom’s birthday today, so my sis and I will be taking her to CCO out in Long Island tomorrow for some fun time shopping :D

NYX Lipsticks
Posted Under Beauty Stuff

In case you didn’t know, there’s another site where you can purchase NYX Lipsticks for $0.99. It’s called Nonpareil Boutique. I had this site bookmarked for a while with the intention of buying the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil for $2.99 as oppose to $4.00 at the actual NYX site and I didn’t know about Cherry Culture at the time. I really wanted to try Thalia but it was out of stock at Cherry Culture, so I looked at Nonpareil Boutique and noticed their Round Lipsticks went from $2.99 to $0.99. And Thalia was in stock… YAY!!! I placed an order on Monday morning and they shipped it the same night and I received it in the mail today so I’m pretty excited about their shipping. I give them 2 thumbs up for that. I think I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get my Cherry Culture in the mail… BOOOOO!!! So yeah, Nonpareil Boutique is another alternative place to buy NYX stuff. The colors I got was Goddess, Indian Pink, Pandora and Frappucino. I thought I added Thalia to the cart but I didn’t *friggin’ idiot… GOSH* <– Napolian Dynamite :D

L to R: Goddess, Pandora, Indian Pink, Frappucino

L to R: Goddess, Pandora, Indian Pink, Frappucino

Goddess

Pandora

Indian Pink

Frappucino

The color I like the most is Pandora, which I think suits me real nice as a red/fuschia lipstick. I’m not too crazy about the other three. Goddess is a coral with shimmer, Indian Pink is pinkish/coral with a hint of gold shimmer, and I wanna like Frappucino but I don’t… lol… I think it’s similar to B52, but Frappucino is more peachy nude and B52 is pinkish nude… whadya think?

B52

I find that the color selections are WAY off on either sites. And don’t get me wrong, these shades are GAWGEOUS, just depends on who’s wearing them. I love, love, LOVE NYX Lipsticks, they’re creamy in texture and goes on very smooth. And they have a big selection in colors too so I will definitely order some more just to play around with. With Thalia being on my wishlist, what colors do you think I should get, especially one that compliments my skintone?

Over Haul & FOTD
Posted Under Beauty Stuff

I’ve bought a few things I’d like to share since my dilema with my webhost. Since then my makeup collection grew more and more and I’m thinking when will I ever wear any of these stuff or if I’ll ever where them at all. One thing I’m really bad at is picking out the right colors. The color might look pretty on the package, but not right on me. This goes with anything; blush, gloss, eyeshadows, whatever. That’s why I like to read reviews on a particular product, read beauty blogs especially with pictures of them wearing the product, or watch YouTube videos. I just hate getting lured into buying something and it ends up not working for me. Hey, did you forget I’m a mom? I can’t afford to buy a mistake.. hehe. Here I go, rambling about nothing. Anyway, I went for a little shopping so read on :D

L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Mica
Rated the Readers Choice according to Allure Magazine, I wanted to find out what the rave was about and decided to buy it. I want to love the color, and it’s creamy too.

Cover Girl Outlast Double Lipshine in Coral Shimmer
I got this for BOGO 50% at Rite Aid and wanted to give this a try. I’m usually a nude/natural lipstick type of girl and rarely wear anything especially coral, but this color looks GAWGEOUS! I gotta say this, I applied it on my hand one night with all the other lipsticks I bought to swatch and went to bed with it and the only one that lasted throughout the night was this one. So it does what it claims to last for 10 hours. It comes with a clear gloss. I love this alot, it’s not gooey or have a bad taste like some lipgloss I’ve experienced.

NYX Lip Pencils and Lipsticks
Thanks to Christiana and her swatches on her blog, she helped me alot in finding the shades that might look good on me. Somehow the colors on online stores (Cherry Culture and Nonpareil Boutique) don’t match up how it looks in person. I mean, these are very pretty colors that I got; B52, Harmonica, Frosted Flakes. And their lip pencils are good too, not too creamy, not too dry, it’s just right (you can buy them at cherryculture.com BOGO free plus you get a free lipgloss with every purchase!) I got them in Current, Toast, Natural and Mauve. I also got Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Yogurt to go with my L’Oreal Eyeshadow Quad in Enchanted Bouquet (watch fafinettex3 for tutorial). I’ll be purchasing more lipsticks, you can go to my shopping list at Kaboodle to view the colors I’m planning on buying.

Top: NYX Long Lip Pencils in Current, Toast, Natural and Mauve

Bottom: L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in Mica and CG Outlast Double Lipshine in Coral Shimmer

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black
The thing I LOVE about L’Oreal is that their Carbon Black is suppose to be more pigmented than their regular black or blackest black. I have their Le Kohl Pencil in Carbon Black and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to any other brands for a black eyeliner. So yeah, I got this mascara for BOGO 50% at CVS. The brush was totally different than my other mascaras, which I’m not too crazy about. It’s more like a comb for your lashes on four sides, like a plus sign. I dunno how to describe it. I love how it extends my lashes though, the color is as black as it can get and with one coat I’m good to go cuz it’s THAT black :) But I don’t like how the brush sorta makes my lashes stick together, I guess if you like the pixie lash look, this one is for you. I use this with my CG Lash Blast for thickness and this mascara for length.

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black

L’Oreal Eyeshadow Quads in Eva’s Violets
I bought this shade, being that I have brown eyes, it’s suppose to enhance the color of my eyes. It looks sooooo gorgeous on Eva Longoria but not on me :( Maybe cuz I haven’t perfected the technique in eyeshadow application, but then again the colors were very light. Even the darkest shade doesn’t show much on my lids.

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette by Sephora in Ludwig
OMF’nG!!!! I can’t remember how I found this beauty but when  I saw this for the first time, I was in love! I was sweatin’ Beethoven at first, and I asked my sister if she saw this and she fell in love with it too. So we decided to splurge and headed over to Sephora. I didn’t know they came out with another color (Ludwig) and decided to buy that one instead, my sis got Beethoven and the lipstick in Lolita, VERY pretty color. I’m probably the last person to ever consider buying eyeshadow palette for $35, but looking at the pretty colors, how could I pass it up? And the packaging is simply gorgeous! Oh!!! You have to look for yourselves and tell me what you think, ain’t it pretty?

Kat Von D Eyeshadow Palette in Ludwig

Btw, this is how my arm looked after leaving Sephora. I was having fun playing with colors… LOL

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
I’ve heard alot of good things about this and it was displayed in the best sellers section at Sephora, so I decided to jump in the bandwagon and gave it a try. I went out to party one night and I had this on under my Kat Von D eyeshadow. Now I sweat like a pig on the dance floor, not only that, I have the greasiest lids on the planet. My eyeshadow lasted the whole entire night, thanks to this baby. It is definitely magic in a bottle. Below is a pic of that night out attempting to do the robot… LOL.

I wore the greens in this pic

Everyday Minerals
From the samples that I got last month, it is definite that my foundation shades are Olive Medium and Sandy Medium (for when I’m tanned) so I bought the full sizes plus a sample blush in B&B. I also added another free sample kit to my order cuz I wanna try out the different shades of foundation and blush in Apple. I can’t wait to get them in the mail!

CLOTHES
Forever 21
I picked up 3 cute tanktops; 2 for me and one for my sis. They were $4.00 each and a brilliant bargain I might add ;)

Steve and Barry’s
I’ve been wanting to go to this store since I was living in South Jersey so I was excited when I had the chance to go shopping in Long Island but I was a bit disappointed at the items they had in the store, for me at least. I’m very difficult when it comes to shopping for clothes, maybe I haven’t given the store a chance. They were having a sale for $8.98 for everything in the store. I took the opportunity to buy clothes for my kids. Boy they grow up fast! And I got myself a zipped hoodie sweater from SJP line. They fit pretty small so I got it one size bigger. CUTE!

*WHEW* That’s alot of shopping… LOL. Thanks for reading.

Here’s my Face of the Day:

Actually, it’s how I look everyday :)
